Kentucky Reportedly Lands First 2011 Prospect

Eastern High School in Louisville (Ky.) may have given Kentucky their first commitment of the 2011 class.

Chip Cosby of the Lexington Herald reports that Eastern High School's 2011 Mr. Football Candidate, Jon Davis has committed to Kentucky.

KSR spoke with Davis's coach at Eastern, Ken Whalen back in the fall about Davis. Here's what he said.

"His football instincts are his biggest strength," said coach Whalen. "He's a student of the game. Offensively his best quality is his hands. Defensively his best quality is the way he can break down a play," Whalen continued.

The 6-foot-3, 240-pound athlete is the first prospect of the 2011 class to commit to the Wildcats and could be the highest rated player in the state when the rankings are released.
