THE COACHES
Urban Meyer is in his fifth season at Florida with a record of 47-9 (.839) and in his
ninth season overall with a record of 86-17 (.835). The Gators’ offensive coordinator
is Steve Addazio and the defensive coordinator is Charlie Strong.
Rich Brooks is in his seventh season at Kentucky with a record of 34-41 (.453) and
19th overall with a record of 125-150-4 (.455). The Wildcats’ offensive coordinator is
Randy Sanders and Steve Brown serves as the defensive coordinator.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN FLORIDA HAS THE BALL
Tim Tebow has rushed for rushed for three touchdowns this season, bringing him to
46 for his career. Tebow’s career rating of 173.6 currently ranks No. 1 in SEC history
(min. 300 completions). Tebow’s 38 rushing touchdowns since 2007 are more than or
equal to 40 FBS teams. Jeff Demps leads the Gators with four rushing touchdowns, while
Chris Rainey tops the team with 225 rushing yards. Riley Cooper leads the Gators with
13 receptions for 212 yards. Deonte Thompson had two receptions, both for touch-
downs, against Troy.
With one interception and four pass breakups, CB Trevard Lindley ranks second in
the nation in passes defended. Lindley had an interception, three pass breakups and
three tackles against the RedHawks in the opener. He returned the interception 25
yards for a touchdown, marking the third consecutive season he has tallied a defensive
TD, joining his fumble return at Arkansas in 2007 and interception return vs. South Carolina in 2008. Corey Peters has 104 tackles in his career, including 17 tackles for
loss and 7.5 quar terback sacks. The Wildcats linebackers are led by senior Micah Johnson. Johnson posted a team-high 12 tackles.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN KENTUCKY HAS THE BALL
Ryan Stamper has led the team in tackles for the past two weeks. After posting five
against Troy, Stamper racked up a career-high 12 tackles (three for loss) vs. Tennessee
to go along with a sack and forced fumble. Carlos Dunlap notched his first sack of the
season and two tackles vs. Troy. UF grabbed two picks against Tennessee, Joe Haden
getting one on the opening drive of the second half and Ahmad Black another to halt
UT’s final offensive possession of the game. Black racked up a career-high 11 tackles
vs. Tennessee.
WR Randall Cobb leads the SEC and ranks tied for 23rd in the nation in receptions
per game. The sophomore averages 6.5 catches per game. The Wildcats lead the nation
in the sacks against category and UK is the only school in the SEC and one of just two
schools in the nation that has not given up a sack this season. Kentucky has a 8-3
record with junior Mike Har tline as the star ting quar terback. Hartline has completed
70.4 percent o his passes for 400 yards and three touchdowns.
SPECIAL TEAMS
Caleb Sturgis, who had never attempted a field goal in his college career, was per-
fect on three attempts against Tennessee on Sept. 19. He hit from 37, 29 and 35 yards,
in addition to making both extra points for a game-high 11 points scored. With four
career punt return touchdowns, Brandon James recorded his first kickoff return for a
touchdown in the season opener against Charleston Southern.
The Wildcats lead the SEC and rank second nationally in kickoff return average with
42.3 yards per return. RB Derrick Locke was named the SEC Special Teams Player of
the Week for his record-breaking performance vs. Louisville. He leads the SEC in kickoff
returns and all-purpose yards. He averages 185.5 all-purpose yards and 47.8 yards
per kickoff return. Against Louisville he returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown.
