LEXINGTON, Ky. – Following a 42-0 season-opening win vs. Miami on Saturday, the Kentucky football team returned to the practice field Sunday afternoon to correct errors made in the game.

"We got a game under our belt, got a good win," said Coach Rich Brooks on his Sunday teleconference. "Now we can go about correcting things that a lot of players were seeing for the very first time because they played extensively for the very first time in a real game. All the stuff we talk about in practice, now we can put it on film. They films don't lie, they expose the really bad things you do and show the very good things you do.

"There were a lot of mistakes technique-wise. If we don't correct those things they will cost us football games. We had a perfect storm, we were able to get a good win to start the year but we have a ton of things we can correct and get better. The improvement and progress of this team will be determined by how we handle and address correcting the mistakes we are making."

The team will take its normal day off Monday and get back to practice on Tuesday.

Trevathan, Davis to Have Surgery: Sophomore linebacker Danny Trevathan will have surgery on Monday to insert a pin in a fractured wrist bone, Coach Rich Brooks announced Sunday.

Trevathan played against Miami with a protective cast. Brooks said that Trevathan will continue to play with a cast after the surgery.

Brooks also said that junior center Marcus Davis will have surgery on Tuesday to correct the broken bone and ankle dislocation sustained in the Miami game. The coach said that there was a possibility that Davis might return by the end of the season if the Wildcats qualify for a bowl game.
