Trevard Lindley: Anchor for the Defense

If you are looking for a trash talking, cocky cornerback, then Trevard Lindley is not your guy. But if you are looking for a consistent playmaker who prefers to let his play do his talking, then Lindley absolutely is your guy.

If you are looking for a trash talking, cocky cornerback, then Trevard Lindley is not your guy. But if you are looking for a consistent playmaker who prefers to let his play do his talking, then Lindley absolutely is your guy.

"There's not as much trash talking going on as some people think. Usually it's the defensive linemen and offensive linemen doing the most talking," said Lindley, Kentucky's talented senior cornerback. "I might say a little joke from time to time. One game (UK linebacker) Micah (Johnson) got hit and I just joked with him about it. I don't try to taunt people or anything like that. That is just not my personality. When I was little, I did some stuff like that. But I stopped as I got older because that just wasn't me." Kentucky coach Rich Brooks appreciates Lindley's business-like demeanor.

"He's a very bright young man, a very talented young man and he just goes about his business without a lot of bravado and chest-beating. He's been one of the more pleasurable guys to coach because you ask him to do something and he just goes out and does it. He doesn't say much about it, he doesn't complain, doesn't get all geeked up and all that, he just goes and plays," Brooks said. And does he ever play.
