When Kentucky beat eventual national champion LSU in overtime in 2007, Myron Walker knew he wanted to play for the Wildcats even though he was from New Orleans.

"I had always noticed what Kentucky was doing and always watched them play. I liked the Wildcats already, and once they won that game, I knew I was going there. I talked to the coaches, went up there to see the place and just loved it.' Not only will Myron Walker, a defensive linemen, sign with Kentucky Wednesday, but so will his brother, Jarvis, a defensive back.

"I am the oldest, but we both always loved football. We went to camps together and we always played football in the backyard," Walker said. "Me and my brother are close, but we were always competitors. That's part of what made us successful. We were always trying to outdo each other. That hasn't changed at all -- and won't at Kentucky. My goal is to be the best defensive lineman they have ever had."

When others tell Walker he's too short at 5-11 to be a successful lineman in the Southeastern Conference, he refuses to believe them. If anything, it makes him work harder to prove his critics are wrong.

"Just because you are bigger doesn't mean that you are better than me," he said. "I am going to outwork that bigger guy because I want to get more attention than him. I am a very intense guy all the time.

"I paid a lot of attention to Kentucky's defense this year. I think their defense was amazing at times. They run the same kind of defense we do here, so that should help me. I've also heard that (defensive line) coach (Rick) Petri is like a dad to you. We have met a few times and talked on the phone. He's a good coach and will tell you the exact positives and negatives of things. He knows how to push you. I like his style of coaching. It's similar to what I had in high school and I can't wait to play for him."
