Kentucky Reportedly Lands Georgia Tight End
It's not often that Kentucky beats out powers such as Michigan and Miami for a football recruit, but it appears that it has happened. "Kentucky has been with me since the start," Mitchell told the Atlanta Journal Constitution. "I liked Kentucky and Michigan about the same. But Kentucky is in the South, closer to home. My family will get to come to a lot of my games. I don't think they'd go all the way to Michigan to see me as much," Mitchell finished. KSR spoke with Mitchell's coach, Kyle Hockman in September and this is what he had to say about Mitchell. "He's a very athletic tight end that also is a pretty physical blocker. That makes him unique. Most of the guys are blockers and don't catch well or they are receivers and don't block well. But he can do both," said coach Hockman. Mitchell visited Kentucky on the weekend of December 12th. Since that time, he has scheduled visits to Clemson and Georgia. Both of those visits were subsequently canceled. Mitchell did make a visit to Michigan earlier this month and considered Michigan as co-leader with Kentucky. Terrell also spoke with Miami about making a visit this weekend, but things didn't work out for that visit. "Miami didn't offer me, but I didn't want to play in the ACC. I think the SEC is the best football conference," he told the AJC. Mitchell was among the top prospects still considering Kentucky as a possible destination. KSR will have more on this breaking story as it's available.
