Hardin County has been good to Kentucky in the past with players such as Zipp Duncan, Dominic Lewis and Andre Woodson. This year, Kentucky has already received a commitment from North Hardin’s LaRod King. Now the Wildcats are showing interest to John Hardin’s Van Ingram. This year, Kentucky has already received a commitment from North Hardin’s LaRod King. Now the Wildcats are showing interest to John Hardin’s Van Ingram. KSR had a moment to catch up with Ingram about his recruitment.

At 6-foot-6 1/2, 315 pounds, Van Ingram is an intimidating football player. The John Hardin tackle has helped lead his school to the second round of the playoffs and a 10-1 record. “We’ve got Oldham County for the regional semifinals this week,” said Ingram.

Ingram is a sleeper prospect in the state of Kentucky, but with his team’s success his attention has began to build. “I’m hearing from Louisville and Kentucky,” said Ingram. “I’m also hearing from Illinois State.”

Ingram’s size is high major quality, but he still knows he has work to do to improve his over all game. “I’m good at pass blocking and run blocking. I want to work on my footwork and get faster,” said Ingram. “Last time I checked, I was benching 305 (pounds). That was about two months ago,” said Ingram.

While improving his stock and adding to his strengths, he’s taken a couple of visits along the way. “I haven’t planned my official visits yet. I have one coming up in January for Louisville. I took unofficial visits to Kentucky and UL this year,” he said. “My visit to Kentucky was a good experience. I loved the atmosphere,” said Ingram.

Ingram has a few points in mind when picking his school. “I want to go to a good dominant school, somewhere that the offensive line makes it big in the NFL. How they treat freshmen is also important,” said Ingram.
