There have been a lot of rumors about the status of linebacker Willie Ferrell and whether or not he’s still committed to the LSU Tigers. One program that Ferrell has been mentioned with is Kentucky. KSR spoke with Ferrell about his options.
Florida A&M University High School product, Willie Ferrell is one of the top linebackers in Florida. He committed to LSU back in the spring, but since then, there have been rumors that he’s thinking about making other visits. “I’m hearing from LSU, Ole Miss, Florida Atlantic, North Carolina State, Alabama, Clemson, Michigan, Maryland, Georgia, and Louisville. I’m also hearing from Kentucky,” said Ferrell.
With a list like that, Ferrell must hold the kind of abilities that any school could use, that’s clear from Ferrell’s numbers. Willie has close to 90 tackles on the season and that’s in only five games. “We’re 5-3. I’ve only played about five games. It’s going pretty good. We’re playing alright,” said Ferrell.
So has Ferrell scheduled his official visits? “No. I’m planning on taking some visits later on. Probably late November,” said Ferrell.
Even with those visits planned, Ferrell is still committed to the Bayou Bengals. “I’m committed to LSU,” said Ferrell. “It’s like Tallahassee. The coaches are honest. I like the type of defense they play and they have my major there,” said Ferrell.
The 6-foot-2 222 pound linebacker still believes there’s a lot to work on. “I can be good at everything I do on the field. But I want to work on everything and keep getting better,” said Ferrell.
Willie Ferrell is a three-star prospect and the number 15 strong-side linebacker in the nation according to Scout.com.
