Jackson likes the direction Cats are headed

Will Jackson, 6-4, 280 pound, offensive guard from Knoxville-Farragut, (Tenn.), likes the direction the Cats are headed. Jackson recently talked about the recruiting process, his offers, and where Kentucky stands with him.

Will Jackson said of Kentucky’s program, “The thing I really like is the way the program has increased exponentially in the past couple of years. The game against Louisiana State in triple overtime game, it was great.”

One of the key factors for Jackson is the development of key quality players. He commented, “Players like Andre Woodson, Jacob Tamme, and Keenan Burton are really impressive to watch.”

The steady progress of the Cats under Rich Brooks has caught his eye as well. He explained, “I know they have won back to back Music City Bowls and beat some pretty good teams in the process. That program is definitely heading in the right direction because of Coach Brooks.”

He went on to explain the added bonus of distance from Lexington to Knoxville. He said, “Also it’s only about two and a half hours away, so it’s close.”

As far as being on campus he recalled one trip to Commonwealth, “I was at a game when I was in seventh grade I saw Tennessee play up there.” He commented,

“I was very impressed. There was a full house and all the energy of the program. I love the stadium and the energy. I was impressed with what I saw.”

Jackson went on to talk about where Kentucky stands with him in the process.

He said of a visit to Kentucky, “I’m going to try. That’s definitely a priority to me to set a visit to all the schools who have offered me.” He added, “Coach Sanders was by the school about a week and a half ago. I know he was there talking to my coach.”

He does report Georgia Tech with a slight lead, but reports that Kentucky still has a good shot to land him. He said, “They have as good of a shot as anybody. Besides Georgia Tech having a slight lead its really wide open after that. It goes Georgia Tech and then everybody else.”
