The annual UK Ohio Convention in Middletown, Ohio, is July 21 and I can’t wait.
This event has become one of my favorite stops and I feel fortunate to again be on the program this year with some big-name talent.
UK linebacker coach Chuck Smith will make his second straight appearance and has an eight-minute highlight video that will delight the die-hard Big Blue fans. He offered numerous insights into last year’s team that proved accurate on his previous visit and I am sure he’ll have more inside tidbits to share again.
Organizer Jim Porter has two men’s basketball guests. Recent UK graduate Bobby Perry graciously agreed to fill in when former UK All-American Kyle Macy had a scheduling conflict. Perry will be able to talk about life under Tubby Smith as well as what he’s seen and heard about new coach Billy Gillispie.
Jerrance Howard, a member of Gillispie’s staff that Lonny Demaree recently featured here, will also be in Middletown to talk about his new boss and the upcoming season.
Of course, I am back on the program with my good buddy, Ryan Lemond. He’ll soon be leaving WLEX-TV but will continue with us here as well as doing more work for WLAP radio. We basically talk about whatever the fans want to know.
Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. at Eastview Baptist Church and the program ends at 4 p.m. Registration is only $20 per person and no one leaves unhappy.
If you are a Big Blue fan and live close to Middletown, give the convention a try.
