Scott Holsopple leaves Kentucky

Posted May 20, 2007

Kentucky's strength and conditioning coach, Scott Holsopple, will be leaving Kentucky, Associate Athletic Director Scott Stricklin has confirmed. Holsopple was hired one year ago by UK, and reportedly will be joining the University of Florida to work with their football strength and conditioning program.

After just one year at Kentucky, the man called Marquette's "MVP" by basketball coach Tom Crean, will be leaving the Wildcats. Holsopple was responsible for all 14 varsity sports at Marquette while he was head S&C coach there, but at Kentucky, his duties were limited to basketball and golf.

Holsopple is reported to be moving to the University of Florida, according to one report by WKYT Channel 27 in Lexington, and would be working with Micky Marotti. Holsopple previously served an internship under Marotti at the University of Notre Dame.

No time table has been set for naming Holsopple's replacement.
