Eight Football Wildcats Honored

Eight football players were among the 32 University of Kentucky student-athletes who were recently named to the Frank G. Ham Society of Character.

The Society of Character, sponsored by UK Athletics, honors select student-athletes who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to academic excellence, athletic participation, personal development, being a role model, and career preparation.

The football Wildcats among the 2004-05 class of inductees includes tailback Arliss Beach (Ashland, Ky.), kicker Taylor Begley (Danville, Ky.), quarterback Shane Boyd (Lexington, Ky.), tight end Jeremiah Drobney (Massillon, Ohio), linebacker Justin Haydock (Louisville, Ky.), nose tackle Lamar Mills (Slidell, La.), strong safety Claude Sagaille (Evanston, Ill.), and linebacker Jon Sumrall (Huntsville, Ala.).

Two additional current Wildcats, inducted in 2003-04, also are members of the Society of Character, wide receiver Tommy Cook (Victoria, Tex.) and cornerback Antoine Huffman (Jonesboro, Ga.).
