"Michael pulled the trigger this morning and committed to Kentucky," Uncle William Lyles told Inside Kentucky. "His mother left a message on my phone this morning."
"He just got tired of waiting on Louisville," Lyles stated. "They were his second choice anyways."
Mike's Dad confirmed the commitment as well.
"I wanted to e-mail you and let you know Mike committed to UK this morning," Mike's father and athletic director at Hancock County, Jake Schwindel told Inside Kentucky. "Mike is really excited about going to UK and finally making a decision."
"It has never been the case of waiting for a "better" offer from other schools," the elder Schwindel stated, "but looking at all the options."
"Mike's main focus now is to have a great senior year and help the Hornets get to Papa Johns in December."
