"Yes sir," Zipp answered when asked if he was excited about the offer. "It's a good school, with good academics, and it's a chance to play in the SEC."
Duncan helped Elizabethtown to the Class 2-A state title game last year before falling to David Jones' Belfry squad. He finished the season with 61 catches for 731 yards and 11 touchdowns. At defensive tackle, he racked up 99 tackles, three sacks and one interception.
"I know he would like to go to school in the SEC," the elder Duncan said. "He's just weighing his options right now and making sure he makes the best decision for him."
"We're gonna ask some help from the good lord and hope he finds us a place that will protect him and keep him safe," the elder Duncan responded.
"Being able to develop and go to the next level," the Elizabethtown star whom was named after his father's best friend in high school, said. "That's gonna be the biggest factor, finding a place to play and fit in."
"He's got one of those bodies, that can play several different positions," Steve Duncan said. "Defense or offense though, Zipp just wants to play."
Most importantly, for a championship.
"No doubt about it, Zipp wants a place to play for a national championship," Zipp's father responded.
As far as a time-table on a decision, it doesn't look as if the Elizabethtown senior will be making a decision anytime soon.
"We've gonna visit some more places and wait a little while," Steve Duncan said. "We're still hoping to get some visits out of the way this summer."
"We're going down to Florida, Florida State, Georgia, and Auburn, for the one day camps," Duncan stated. "We're gonna visit Purdue tomorrow. Notre Dame hopefully next week and we're hoping for Georgia."
"Florida's real close to offering, they just have to see some tape on my blocking," Zipp answered. "I had a pretty good work out at Alabama, too, so we'll see."
