It marked the second major watch list for Kentucky's freshman forward, who is also up for the Wooden Award.

The Dallas, Texas, native currently leads the Wildcats in scoring (16.7) and rebounding (10.6). He has recorded double-doubles in 11 of his 18 games, the most of any player in the John Calipari era at UK through the same number of games. DeMarcus Cousins and Robertson Award winner Anthony Davis share the single-season freshman record for double-doubles at UK with 20.

Randle had 13 points and 11 rebounds Tuesday night in a 68-51 win over Texas A&M.

The USBWA selected players for the midseason watch list. The award is to be presented to the national player of the year by its namesake at the Devon Energy College Basketball Awards on April 14 at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. The Henry Iba Coach of the Year Award and the Integris Wayman Tisdale Freshman of the Year Award will also be presented at the gala to be held annually the Monday following the NCAA Men's Final Four.
