Wiltjer selected to Canadian squad
The team departed for China early Wednesday morning to begin play this weekend.
Wiltjer's father, Greg, is a native Canadian who represented his country in the 1984 Olympics and played professionally for several years.
Coming off a sophomore season which saw him average 10.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, Wiltjer was named the Southeastern Conference's Sixth Man of the Year. He began training with the Canadian team in Portland, Ore., earlier this week.
Following the exhibition series, Wiltjer will have the chance to earn a roster spot on the team that travels to the FISU Summer Universiade, also known as the World University Games, in Kazan, Russia, from July 6 to 17.
