This past weekend, Austin Davis joined several of his teammates on the Western Kentucky campus for Junior Day. After meeting Bobby Petrino and his coaching staff, he was impressed.
"I'm actually very excited about Western Kentucky since coach Petrino is there now and Jeff Brohm," Davis said.
"From my view of things that I did see, I think they are going somewhere in the near future," Davis said. "Coach Petrino knows what he's doing. I like the running back coach, Kolby Smith. And the environment was good. Overall I liked it," he continued.
Davis has also been in touch with a couple of other schools.
"I've been in contact with Purdue. In December (Kentucky offensive coordinator) Neal Brown came to school and was telling me to consider Kentucky. Coach Franklin and Coach Donovan of Vandy also came in December. Purdue said they will come down to see me in the spring," Davis continued.
So while Davis has been in contact, he's still waiting on the offers.
"Recruiting is going good. I still have no scholarship offers at the moment, but I'm doing good though," he finished.
FOX Sports Next will keep you posted on Austin Davis.
