East St. Louis always seems to have a team full of talent, and the Flyers have several juniors and sophomores who appear to be headed towards being heavily recruited.
One of them is junior Treevon Prater, a rangy 6'2, 180-lb wide receiver and defensive back who had a strong 2012 campaign.
"I think I did very good. I went both ways, about 50-50 [between wide receiver and defensive back]. I played more safety [than cornerback]."
On offense, Prater caught five touchdowns and he came away with three interceptions on defense. He says the college interest has not been heavy yet, but there are two schools he likes and has seen.
"[My favorites would be] probably Kentucky or Missouri. I went to a couple games. I went to a couple Missouri games and Kentucky games."
Both schools have had East St. Louis alums on their roster, and Prater is hoping to be next, and when that happen, he says it won't matter if it's as a receiver or defensive back.
"It doesn't matter to me," he explained. "I just want to play."
