2012 Freshman All-American Team

Offensive Player of the Year: Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M

Manziel has put together one of the most remarkable freshman seasons in recent college football memory, and is the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy, which would make him the first freshman to ever win the award.

Defensive Player of the Year: Devonte Fields, TCU

The true freshman was a unanimous pick for the Big 12 Freshman Defensive Player of the Year. He had a league-leading 17.5 tackles for loss and registered nine sacks.
