UK commit solid but still getting calls

Alvonte Bell is a talented defensive end prospect from Everglades High in Miramar and Scout caught up with him to discuss the latest.

Alvonte Bell put his name on the recruiting map with a strong junior season. He just finished his follow up with a strong senior campaign.

"I had about 30 tackles, four sacks, and one pass deflection," Bell said. "I missed a lot of time because of my ankle injury but it was good."

Bell, 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds, made an early commitment to Kentucky and remains pledged to the Wildcats. He talked about the season they're having.

"UK is young but they played well," he said. "They showed a lack of experience sometimes, but they are a good team."

Bell likes his chances of going into college and playing right away.

"The coaches said I'll be battling for a chance in the rotation as soon as I get there," he said. "I talk to Coach Turner a lot and our relationship is pretty good, I like him."

Despite the commitment to Kentucky, Bell says he''s still being recruited by a few others.

"Florida State, West Virginia, Washington State, and Houston are some of the schools that still call me," he said. "I don't have any visits scheduled right now."

So does that mean Bell is rock solid with his commitment?

"Yes, my commitment to Kentucky is very solid right now." Recommended Stories
