Practice Report: 11/13

WR Kenny Bell

Injury updates on John Fulton, Kenny Bell, Kevin Norwood and Chris Black, plus a video of the offensive linemen inside today's practice report...

After getting some rest Monday, Alabama began preparing for Western Carolina inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility Tuesday afternoon. It was a beautiful day in the high 50s in Tuscaloosa, so the rhyme and reason why the Crimson Tide practiced inside is unknown.

The media was granted two periods to watch practice, so here are some observations:

--Cornerback John Fulton, who had five tackles and a career-high four pass break ups against Texas A&M last week, has turf toe. He wore a black no-contact jersey today and spent the media-viewing period on the recumbent bike.

--Wide receivers Kenny Bell and Kevin Norwood did not practice during the open period, but neither wore no-contact jerseys, suggesting they probably did practice later on. Both have been nursing nagging injuries much of the season, but neither has been limited during games.

--Freshman wide receiver Chris Black, who made his debut last week in a black no-contact jersey after having shoulder surgery in August, was practicing again today. Monday, head coach Nick Saban said that he has been cleared for activity, but not for contact, and even if he gets cleared before the bowl game, it might be "foolish" to play him. Black made an impressive one-handed catch in front of several reporters and landed on one of his shoulders (not sure if it was the injured one or not), but got right back up for more.

Below, watch Alabama's offensive linemen work through drills.
