Alabama faced a scary moment Saturday night in Death Valley. With 94 seconds left, LSU led 17-14. It was the first time the Crimson Tide has trailed since the Auburn game in 2010. But A.J. McCarron led the two-minute drill of his life and capped it off with a 28-yard screen pass to T.J. Yeldon for the game-winning touchdown.
The Tigers put up the toughest fight the Tide had seen all year, but Alabama came out with a 21-17 victory and are safe atop the newest BCS standings.
This marks the fourth straight week the Tide are ranked No. 1.
Kansas State (.9288) remained No. 2, while Oregon (.9485), who beat USC on the road, hopped over Notre Dame (.8739), who had to go three overtimes to beat Pitt 29-26.
SEC teams—Alabama, Georgia (.8258), Florida (.7397), LSU (.6766) and South Carolina (.5966)—make up half of the Top 10.
