WILDCAT KEYS TO THE GAME:
When Kentucky has the ball… The Wildcats need to duplicate the rushing effort they produced last week against Georgia when they had a season-high 206 yards via the ground game. Doing so would not only help the UK offense sustain drives, but would also keep the Cats’ beleaguered defense off the field as much as possible. Look for freshman tailback Dyshawn Mobley to get more action this week, alongside Raymond Sanders and Jonathan George. And if freshman quarterback Patrick Towles is able to bounce back from a high ankle sprain and split duty with Jalen Whitlow, it will also give the Cats more downfield passing options and keep the Tigers’ defense off-balance.

When Missouri has the ball… The Cats delivered one of their best efforts last week on third-down situations, and they’ll need it again if they hope to leave Columbia with a win. The Tigers have been inconsistent on the offensive side of the ball, converting only 27 percent of their third downs on the season. And like UK, they'll be without their regular starting quarterback. Being solid on first and second down and forcing backup QB Corbin Berkstresser into long-yardage situations will be critical for the Cats.

MILESTONE WATCH:

Senior wide receiver La’Rod King has 1,614 career receiving yards and needs 47 more to tie Randall Cobb for sixth place on the UK career list. King also has 17 career touchdowns and needs one more to tie Derek Abney and Dicky Lyons Jr. for third on UK’s career TD list.

NOTES:
• Through games of Oct. 20, Kentucky had played the toughest schedule in the nation, according to the Anderson and Hester ratings and the Colley Matrix, two components of the BCS rankings. The teams that have played Kentucky have a combined record of 47-10 this season (.825), a record which improves to 45-8 (.849) when you subtract the games UK’s opponents have played against each other.

• UK is fifth in the nation for most true freshmen played with 14, only two behind the national leader. Of Kentucky’s 80 recruited scholarship players, 55 are freshmen or sophomores. UK is fourth in the nation for most total freshmen (true and redshirt frosh) played with 26, only two behind the national leader.

• Junior linebacker Avery Williamson leads Kentucky and the SEC in total tackles with 81. He is third in the SEC in tackles per game (10.1) and has double-figure tackles in five of eight games this season.

• UK freshman punter Landon Foster ranks sixth in the SEC and 21st nationally in punting, averaging 43.1 yards per punt. As a team, UK ranks 20th in net punting (39.95 net yards per punt).
