Timmons dazzles again
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound all-purpose back carried the ball only five times in the Flyers' 62-24 win over crosstown rival Frankfort, but scored three times on runs of 10, 68 and 13 yards. The last of the three scoring runs came just feet in front of UK head coach Joker Phillips and assistant coach Chuck Smith, a dazzling spin move that left a defender grasping for air as Timmons sliced into the end zone.
Arkansas assistant coach Kris Cinkovich was also in the state capital to see Timmons up close. The Razorbacks are one of the primary contenders for the three-star athlete, who also holds BCS offers from Purdue and Illinois. Ohio State and Wisconsin have shown strong interest.
Timmons finished the game with 110 yards rushing. He played only a handful of snaps in the third quarter, the first time he's seen action in a second half this season for Franklin County (4-0) which entered last night's game averaging 67 points a game.
For the season, Timmons has 610 yards in total offense on only 27 rushing attempts or pass receptions. That's good for a video game-like 22.6 yards per touch. He's turned 13 of those into touchdowns, thanks to his 4.4 speed.
