Interestingly, the game also produced a career high 24 points from ex-UK power forward Patrick Patterson, who also hit the game-tying bucket to put the game into overtime.
Will this game be the "breakout" game for Cousins, elevating him to the superstardom status? Time will tell, but the future looks bright for the young man. The relationship with new head coach Keith Smart appears terrific, with Smart even joking with Cousins two games ago, and allowing Cousins to finish a Kings' victory by donning Smart's coat and coaching the team.
