Shawn Blaylock received a phone call from Kentucky Offensive Coordinator, Randy Sanders today and Coach Sanders offered him a scholarship.
"I got a call from Coach Sanders and he asked how would I like to put a blue jersey on," he said. "I said I would come up there and do it right now if I could," said Blaylock.
Blaylock took no time in making his choice and deciding to be a Wildcat.
"I pretty much had my mind made up that I wanted to be a Wildcat. When they offered, I wanted to be a part of the family right away," he said. "I can't put it into words (how good it felt). It felt like a kid in a candy store or going to Six Flags for the first time," he said.
Blaylock said that the staff was bringing him in as a cornerback, but he knows that the staff knows he can swing into other roles if necessary. The 5-foot-11, 172-pound prospect runs a 4.49 in the 40 and also has a 37 inch vertical. No matter how they bring him in, Blaylock is looking forward to playing for Kentucky.
"Man, I'm still excited. I can't even sit down, I'm so excited," he finished.
Shawn Blaylock is the fifth commitment of the 2012 class for the Wildcats and the second Stephenson High prospect.
