Kentucky landed a commitment Wednesday night from a priority position - defensive tackle. Lovejoy High (Ga.) lineman David Washington chose to cast his lot with the Wildcats.

In an exchange of text messages, Washington stated: "I committed to UK yesterday."

Washington is scheduled to visit Lexington when the Wildcats take on the Georgia Bulldogs this weekend.

The 6-foot-2, 270-pounder described himself as a player in a previous interview with KSR.

"I think I'm a great pass rusher," he said. "But I love taking on run blocker and stuffing the run. I think I'm well balanced. But I like stopping the run better," he continued.

As a junior, Washington had 57 tackles and four sacks for Lovejoy High (Ga.) and his performances earned him three offers. Virginia, Mississippi State and Kentucky have all extended scholarship offers to Washington.
